This is the time when new routines are established and a commitment from everyone is needed to adjust to changes.

During this time, it is important that you take the time to take care of yourself—both mentally and physically. Make time to go to the gym, enjoy a meal on your own, or relax with some music or a book. If you make sure you've tended to your own needs, you will be better able to look after the needs of the person going through recovery.
Recovery from alcoholism is often an emotionally trying process. It is important that you too have someone to turn to so you can express your thoughts and feelings. Be sure to have someone you trust around to listen to you and help you maintain your own mental wellness. |
